UFC scheduled to return to Brazil Nov. 2011November 2, 2010 by Joe Rocha



 
After a thirteen year hiatus from the homeland that helped breed the start of the UFC (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) the promotion is said to be returning next year in November reports Brazilian Magazine, Gracie Mag.


The venue, HSBC arena in  Barra da Tijuca, is said to have already been reviewed and approved by the UFC. The event center has already held past concert events for bands Green Day, Bob Dylan, and R.E.M.

The last time the UFC was in Brazil was 1998 at the Portuguesa gymnasium in São Paulo in which Vitor Belfort defeated Wanderlei Silva. Also featured on the card was Frank Shamrock, Ebenézer Braga, Pat Miletich, Pete Williams, Pedro Rizzo, and Tank Abbot.
