Jake Ellenberger, Jay Hieron, Michael Johnson, Danny Castillo, Shane Roller, and Jacob Volkmann all have a new card to fight on. All three of those matches will now take place at UFC on FX 5. The card takes place on October 5th at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The event is also headlined by Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva as he takes on Travis Browne. It is unlikely that any more fights will move to the card as there is already a rumored 12 fights with these three additions.
It is hard to say where all these fights will land on the card, but one can expect that Ellenberger and Hieron will be on the main card of the event. It is actually nice for Hieron who took this fight on short notice to get a bit extra time to prepare. The problem is that sponsor money might be affected by the change. Being the co-main event on a pay-per-view headlined by Jon Jones will get you substantially more eyeballs staring at you fight shorts than a card on FX. Also, expect Castillo and Johnson to be moved. Originally expected to headline the FX prelims for UFC 151, but if they are lucky they will be relegated to Fuel. For them, again viewers and sponsor money goes down. Hopefully this is the end of the bad news for all the fighters involved in UFC 151 and after the fight they can put this behind them.
