UFC on FUEL TV 6 adds two big fights

The first UFC in China card is filling up fast. Now it has added some star power with Mac Danzig, Takanori Gomi, Thiago Silva, and Stanislav Nedkov added to the already bustling card. UFC on Fuel TV 6 is probably the most star studded Fuel card since it is headlined by former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin taking on former Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le. The card takes place in Macau, China on November 10th at the Cotai Arena.

The first fight takes place between former Ultimate Fighter winner Mac Danzig, and former Pride lightweight champion Takanori Gomi. Both fighters have been less than impressive in recent outings with Gomi going 2-3 in his last five bouts, and Danzig is not much better going 3-2 in his last five. This fight will be a clash of style as Danzig will be looking to take the fight to the ground to use his extensive ground skills to offset the power Gomi holds in his hands. While Gomi’s best days as a fighter may be behind him, he still holds great power in his hands. He effectively ended Tyson Griffin’s UFC career by knocking him out. Hopefully, the same fate does not befall Danzig.

Thiago Silva may be fighting for his UFC career in his fight against Nedkov. He does have a leg up on Nedkov as he was able to shake off some ring rust in his loss to Alexander Gustafsson while Nedkov has not competed in over a year. Nedkov could be a good prospect at light heavyweight if he could just stay healthy, and with a strong win over Silva he could also prove that. Silva on the other hand needs to prove his abilities if he wants to continue to fight in the octagon. After repeated losses and steroid controversies his time may be limited if he is not able to pull off a win.
