Two locals are on deck in George Sullivan and Alexander Yakovlev, with both sporting Octagon experience.
For about 40 seconds, Yakovlev does absolutely nothing as Sullivan circles and kicks him in the thigh. Then some switch is flicked on and the Russian fires back with two kicks of his own, and dumps Sullivan onto the canvas again and again. Sullivan works back to his feet after some work, and then WHAMMO! Yakovlev drops him with a scorcher of a right hand. The follow up punches are merely semantic, as the American is out.
The official result is Alexander Yakovlev over George Sullivan via knockout at 3:59 in Round 1.
