Former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua was robbed at gunpoint after a dinner with fellow fighter Demian Maia, according to a report out of Brazil by Portal Vale Tudo.

Rua, who lost to Dan Henderson earlier this year, was stopped by a car filled with four armed men who held them at gunpoint while stripping him of his shoes, shirt and money.

The report stated that one of the robbers noticed who Rua was and instructed him to not try anything dangerous before taking the car, which was not his but that of a friend. The fighter had to walk to a nearby police station after the incident.

Rua has lost three of his last four fights overall, dropping his career record to 22-9. He is 6-7 with the promotion and currently does not have a fight scheduled.
