The fight between coaches of TUF Nations in Quebec for UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Kennedy in Quebec followed the theme of the evening, with Team Canada, represented by Patrick Coté, coming out on top.
Fighting in his home province, Coté landed solid strikes against Kyle Noke of Australia, as well as all of the bout’s takedowns. The cagy veteran showed improved grappling acumen and was particularly dominant in several sequences on the mat, several of which came late in each of the bout’s three rounds.
Noke was able to stun Coté with a knee strike early in the second round, and peppered a few kicks from distance throughout. But judges’ decision, and the night belonged to Coté — as well as his fighters, who swept their way into the TUF Nations finals.
After the bout, Coté remarked, “I’m 34 years old, but I feel better than ever.”
At UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Kennedy, Patrick Coté defeats Kyle Noke by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).
