There are a lot of bantamweights on the card, and next up on the 135-pound menu is Brazilian Muay Thai dude Felipe Arantes against former Oklahoma State wrestler Jerrod Sanders.
Arantes shows no fear about getting taken down, as he stings the American with an inside leg-kick, tags him with punches and goes for a jumping knee. When Sanders shoots Arantes sprawls beautifully, but when he tries to swing around and take the wrestler’s back, Sanders reverses and easily takes mount. It’s ground and pound city as Sanders becomes heavy and stifles anything Arantes does – seriously, Arantes can’t do a damn thing – and the horn sounds with Sanders in total control.
It takes all of 15 seconds for Sanders to put his foe on his back, and when the pounding begins, you have to wonder how bad things are going to get for Arantes. But he’s a salty vet, and in no time he’s methodically swinging his hips around and securing an armbar. Jerrod has no time to do anything other than verbally tap.
Result: Felipe Arantes def. Jerrod Sanders via Submission (Armbar) at 1:39, R2
