There are MMA veterans, and there are MMA VETERANS, and grizzled female submission specialist Shayna Baszler is the latter. On Saturday night, the 15-9 bantamweight will be stepping into the cage at UFC Fight Night 62 to take on Amanda Nunes in a fight that is likely meant to put Nunes back in track for a title shot (Zingano ultimately took that shot away from her – and we all know how that worked out). But you can’t count Baszler out just yet. She’s got submissions for days, and as a student of Josh Barnett, her catchwrestling skills are usually on point. In other words, she dangerous. Always.
Below is an early fight of Baszler’s. Since women’s MMA has always been such a small subset of the sport itself, everyone pretty much had to fight everyone at some point, so here’s Baszler taking on Roxanne Modafferi.
