Michael Bisping came back from an up-and-down first round to dominate Cung Le tonight in Macau, bloodying the aging star en route to a fourth round TKO victory.
Le, who would remark later “I think I did pretty good for a 42 year old man,” began well — hitting many of his trademark kicks and the occasional right hook to boot. But Bisping eventually found his range, opening cuts around both eyes of Le in the second stanza. A more competitive third round was followed by an ugly beating in the fourth. Bisping punched at high volume — working in kicks and punches here and there. A knee to the chin would knock Le to the canvas, and Bisping followed with punches to force the referee stoppage at 0:57.
Bisping, who entered the Octagon a -325 favorite, called out Luke Rockhold after the bout, describing the middleweight contender as an “idot.”
“I think he has the hots for me, to be honest,” he joked.
Bisping, 35, also praised Le for his warrior spirit. A battered Le simply said that Bisping “was the better man tonight.”
At UFC Fight Night 48, Michael Bisping defeats Cung Le by TKO (punches) at 0:57 of round four.
