UFC Fight Night 43 Primer: Nate Marquardt in Action

When last we saw Nate Marquardt, he was getting put to sleep by Hector Lombard at UFC 166. Prior to that, he was knocked senseless at the hands of Jake Ellenberger at UFC 158. Well, “Nate the Great” is now taking on Kiwi slugger James Te Huna at UFC Fight Night 43 on June 28, and it has become painfully obvious that the UFC is trying to kill him.

Don’t get me wrong, Marquardt has got skills. He was a top contender in the UFC at one point, earned the title of King of Pancrase, and can boast wins over such impressive foes as Dan Miller, Tyron Woodley and Demian Maia. But in 2013 someone figured out where his “off” switch is, and now Marquardt is riding the fast train to Concussive Brain Trauma-ville, and when he gets there he’s going to be a slobbering mess.

Anyway, watch the video below and see an example of when Marquardt was a bad mofo. Then, on Saturday night, watch Marquardt’s memory of that particular fight get erased from his mind (along with a bunch of other memories he probably would wish to keep).
