One of the disadvantages of being Jan Blachowicz is that you fight just hard enough to give the elite members of the UFC rosters a test, but you’re not good enough to beat them.
One of the advantages of being Jan Blachowicz, however, is that when the UFC comes to your native Poland… an easy fight on the main card!
Wrestler Devin Clark was all about getting Blachowicz down to the ground, where he’d do that thing that wrestlers do. But Blachowicz was all about keeping the fight standing, and his success meant the two would trade single kicks and punches throughout all of the first round. Both men had their moments, stunning the other briefly with a punch that landed hard, yet neither really edged far ahead.
All that changed in the second, with Blachowicz taking a chunk out of Clark’s existence via a hard kick to the body. Soon after, Clark shot in, and after Blachowicz stuffed it, the Polish fighter spun to the American’s back and slipped on a choke. Standing. With no hooks. And Clark tapped.
Hooray for hometown heroes getting easy wins.
