Amiable Brazilian Glover Teixeira had some decent momentum built up after beating Ovince St. Preux, Pat Cummings and Rashad Evans, but nothing kills momentum like a 13-seconds knockout at the hands of Anthony Johnson. So where does he stand now? Where does he fit in in a light-heavyweight division fractured by Jon Jones’ recurring absences?
On Sunday, Teixeira will step into the cage opposite Alexander Gustafsson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 109. Like Teixeira, Gustafsson is also a top 205 pounder trying to figure out where he stands in the division. Hopefully, a definitive ending will help us figure out which of these men might again challenge for the belt and which one will forever more beat up scrubs.
Here’s Teixeira in action.
