UFC Champ Jon Jones Celebrates Three Years Atop The Division

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is celebrating three years atop the division the only way he knows how.

Jones, who posted that Wednesday marked three years to the day he defeated Mauricio “Shogun” Rua to become UFC champion, stated plans to put in a “full day of extreme hard work.”

Jones (19-1) bested Rua at UFC 128 via third round TKO. He has since successfully defended the belt vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Chael Sonnen and Alexander Gustafsson.

Next up for “Bones” will be Glover Teixeira at UFC 172 next month.

3 years of having him the belt is Bullshit, considering he rightfully lost to Gustafson. He’s walking around with Gus’s belt, and he’s been doing everything he can to get out of fighting him again. Chicken shit
