UFC announces first event in China, set for Nov. 10th

The date and venue are finally set. In March Dana White had originally announced that they were very close to announcing the first UFC event in China. Well, after four months that announcement has finally been made. The even is set to take place on November 10th which comes one week before UFC 154. The event is going to take place in Macau which has a population of about  half a million, and The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel, which is modeled after the venetian in Las Vegas, has an arena that can seat roughly 15,000 fans for the event.

The event will air in the US on Fuel TV which will be the sixth even to air on the channel. As of now there is no plans to put any fighters on the card, but it is not completely out of the realm of possibilities for Zuffa to sign some local talent for the event. Zhang Tiequan is currently one of the only Chinese fighters on the roster, but unfortunately is only 1-2 in the UFC. He has not been cut so far though so it is likely he may be on the card as a way to up the excitement for the event.
