Former champ Fabricio Werdum and rising star Derrick Lewis were supposed to tango at UFC 216, but just a few hours before showtime, Lewis had to bow out due to a recurring back injury. Some quick scrambling had undercard heavyweight Walt Harris stepping up to face Werdum – which was good for Werdum, as he could still fight, but bad for Harris’ original opponent, Mark Godbeer, who instead got to drown his sorrows at the buffet.
Anyway, Werdum is still an elite fighter, and it’s no thing for him to take Harris down and slither into mount. When Harris tries to escape, the Brazilian – who just so happens to be one of the best jiu-jitsu guys in the game – takes his back, and then takes his arm.
Easy money for Werdum.
