First up: the Fight Pass prelim between Josh Burkman and Drew Dober.
Burkman was a competitor on TUF 2, has fought everywhere, and since returning to the Octagon, has won only once in seven fights. I’m… not sure why he’s even under contract with the organization. Dober was a competitor on TUF 15, has won only three fights out of eight since coming to the UFC proper, and is pretty well-rounded.
The bout opens with both men trading kicks, and alternating with takedown attempts – in terms of skills, they’re essentially the same fighter, which means they’re both score with their low-kicks and stuff each other’s takedowns. But they’re banging in range, and soon Dober’s left hand sneaks through Burkman’s defenses and puts him out. Yikes.
Results: Drew Dober def. Josh Burkman via KO (Punch) at 3:04, R1
