Despite a failed drug test and some time on the microphone when we couldn’t understand a damn word he was saying, Yoel Romero has finally climbed to the top of the middleweight heap. However, before he can challenge for the belt, he has to get past another fighter who has also made the climb: Robert Whittaker.
The duo comprise the co-main event of UFC 213, and the presumption is the winner will get to face Michael Bisping (when Bisping heals up from the injury he’s nursing).
Thus far, Romero has taken out the likes of Lyoto Machida, Ronaldo Souza and Chris Weidman. Given that rogues gallery of badasses, will Whittaker be that tough of an obstacle to overcome?
Chew on that question. In the meantime, here’s Romero doing his thing.
