UFC 209 comes at us in a few days, and with it comes the rematch between champ Tyron Woodley and challenger Stephen Thompson.
When last these guys met in the cage, it was at the UFC’s inaugural event at Madison Square Garden. If you’ll recall, New York had just legalized the sport, so when Woodley and Thompson went the full five rounds and the judges tallied their scorecards, the inexperienced New York State Athletic Commission screwed up the decision and had poor Bruce Buffer declare Woodley as the winner… despite the scores actually amounting to a majority draw.
Anyway, Woodley and Thompson are going to settle things once and for all, and without any green commissions mucking it up.
Here’s UK broadcast team Dan Hardy and John Gooden breaking the fight down.
