UFC 192 comes at us on October 3, and though the main event we’ll see a light-heavyweight championship bout grab most of our attention, there’s a pretty important co-main event slated to give us some clarity on what’s going on with the division’s best welterweights. Former champ Johny Hendricks will be scrapping with Strikeforce champ Tyron Woodley, and it’s presumed that a strong performance by either man will lead directly to a shot at the title.
Since transitioning to Octagon life, Woodley has lost only to Jake Shields and Rory MacDonald, and we all know where those fighters sit on the food chain (or sat at least). Can he defeat Hendricks, who gave champ Robbie Lawler two badass fights? Sure. I mean, look what he did to Josh Koscheck.
