UFC 192 Primer: Alexander Gustafsson Is a Tough S.O.B.

On a long enough timeline, anyone who trades punches with another person for a living will eventually get caught. It’s a statistical inevitability.

That’s the storyline behind Swede striker Alexander Gustafsson, whose last outing in the Octagon resulted in him falling prey to Anthony Johnson’s giant, ham-sized fists. But prior to that loss, Gustafsson beat Jimi Manuwa and gave then-champ Jon Jones the fight of a lifetime, so when it comes to finding light-heavyweight king Daniel Cormier a worthy opponent at UFC 192, hey, why not put Gustafsson in there?

He’s tall, he’s rangy, he’s carved out of wood, and when he protects his chin, Gustafsson is a dangerous fighter for anyone.
