Ronda Rousey vs. Winner of Alexis Davis/Sara McMann
A lot of people are calling for the winner of Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano to get the next fight with Rousey, but there is no point in Tate rematching Rousey yet since she lost to her last year. Zingano would be an intriguing match, but that is not the toughest match in the division for the champion. Both Davis and McMann pose big threats. Davis has two black belts in different forms of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and McMann is an Olympic level wrestler. Both of those factors would make a McMann and Davis fight interesting, and whoever wins would pose the biggest threat to Rousey.
Lyoto Machida vs. Winner of Jon Jones/Chael Sonnen
Regardless of what you think of the Machida and Henderson fight, the bottom line is Machida won, and according to Dana White, Machida has earned his title shot. He will face the winner of Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen sometime later this year. While he was finished by Jon Jones in the second round of their first meeting, he still is a puzzle and that is what makes his fights interesting and yet boring at times.
Urijah Faber vs. Michael McDonald
Faber says he is within a fight or two of another title shot and at the same time it is hard for him to face contenders and potentially take them out of contention. McDonald is coming off a loss in his first title match and that would be a good fight since if McDonald lost to Faber it would not take out someone new to face Cruz – Barao winner. Plus, if McDonald can come away with a win he would be the first person to beat Faber outside of a title fight in the UFC or WEC.
Court McGee vs. Winner of Bobby Voelker/Patrick Cote
McGee looked good at 170. He is strong, has great cardio and can throw an amazing volume of punches. Those are all the things that made him good at 185. Cote and Voelker face off at UFC 158 and both are stand-up fighters with knockout power. McGee faced a similar opponent in Neer, but he could out-muscle the former lightweight. It would be interesting to see him face an opponent who he cannot overpower.
Robbie Lawler vs. Tarec Saffiedine
Lawler and Saffiedine surprised a lot of people in their recent fights. Marquardt and Koscheck were big favorites heading into their respective bouts, but they failed to live up to the hype. Saffiedine has not been lined-up with a fight in the UFC and he recently turned down a bout with Carlos Condit on short notice. A match-up between the two newest entries into the top ten UFC welterweights would determine who continues to climb toward the title.
