UFC 152 continues to add phenomenal matches to its fight card. Now, a pivotal featherweight matchup between Charles Oliveira and Cub Swanson is set to take place where the winner will take one step closer to the title. Also, Dan Miller is set to take on Sean Pierson as he marches his way back to relevance in his new weight class. UFC 152 is headlined by the crowning of the first flyweight champion with a match between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson.
Cub Swanson was always thought to have the ability to be a great fighter, but injuries, inability to perform, and maybe some confidence issues, have led him to have his ups and downs in his Zuffa career. Now after his last set of injuries, he’s ready to make the best run of his career. Swanson has consecutive knockouts of George Roop and Ross Pearson, and if he can do the same to Oliveira, he may be within a title shot. Oliveira on the other hand, had a semi-successful run at lightweight before being beaten too many times. Now, that he has dropped to 145, he’s shown off his great ground skills with consecutive submission victories.
The fight between Dan Miller and Sean Pierson may not have the importance of Oliveira versus Swanson, but it sure will be entertaining. Miller actually won submission of the night in his welterweight debut, and Pierson has had some true wars in the octagon during his UFC tenure. Both are looking for their first back to back wins in years, but only one will be able to get a victory in this fight.
