Jessica Peña was totally dominant tonight at The Ultimate Fighter Season 18 Finale in Las Vegas, taking Jessica Rakoczy to the mat and damaging her with strikes en route to a round one TKO.
Peña, a 24 year old Venezuelan-American of Spokane,WA, entered the cage a -220 favorite over the 36 year old ex-boxer Rakoczy, of Hamilton, Ontario. She wins the title of The Ultimate Fighter Season 18, earns a contract and a Harley Davidson motorcycle, and improves her record to 5-2.
Peña, the first pick for TUF 18 coach Miesha Tate, defeated one of the season favorites, veteran Shayna Baszler, in the show’s first episode. Her opponent Rakoczy, who is 35-3-1 as a pro boxer but only 1-4-1 in MMA, was the last athlete selected by Tate’s rival Ronda Rousey.
The victory followed Chris Holdsworth’s win over Davey Grant at the TUF 18 Finale. Team Tate has now won both TUF 18 titles.
At the TUF 18 Finale, Julianna Peña defeated Jessica Rakoczy by TKO (strikes from the mount) at 4:59 of round one.
