When the two tumbled to the mat early in round two, Holdsworth really took over. Holdsworth quickly worked to the back, where he set the choke at 2:10 of the round.
A Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Marc Laimon of Las Vegas, Holdsworth entered the bout a -215 favorite. He was coached by Miesha Tate on the TUF 18 season. Grant, a longtime presence at SBG Manchester, was coached by Ronda Rousey.
