When Melvin Guillard burst onto the national MMA scene with his stint on TUF 2, he was heralded as a super-explosive striker who may have lacked ground skills, but could smoke dudes on the feet. Which he pretty much was (and still is). But prior to his plunge into the deep end of the MMA pool, “The Young Assassin” tried his hand at that other combat sport, the one where there is no grappling and you really, really have to protect your chin.
Thankfully, after dabbling in both, he chose MMA.
Anyway, here’s Guillard’s boxing match, which took place on January 21, 2005. After this, he entered the TUF House, and the rest is history.
