If you had not heard, back in Feb. Randy Couture made the decision to join the UFC’s competitors over at Bellator MMA. UFC president Dana White then responded with the bold announcement that the UFC hall-of-famer is no longer welcome to corner his son in the UFC.
As we come closer to the event, Nordic MMA has talked with the Swedish regulating body, who will be handling the upcoming card with Couture competing. According to the source, Randy will be allowed to corner and the UFC has no problem with it.
“We don’t have any rules about who can corner an athlete,” Sallfeldt is quoted as saying on Nordic MMA. “That’s up to the athlete. We talked to the UFC and they have no problems with anyone corning anyone. I don’t see any problems in this specific case.”
Ryan Couture will be taking on TUF winner Ross Pearson at UFC on Fuel TV: Gustafsson vs. Mousasi on April 6th in Stockholm, Sweden.
