Stephen Thompson Shines at TUF 21 Finale

Stephen Thompson Shines at TUF 21 Finale

After Saturday night’s epic UFC 189 pay-per-view, Sunday night’s TUF 21 Finale on FOX Sports 1 felt almost like an afterthought. And for the most part, it was, with fights having little to no meaning on paper ending up with little to no meaning after they’d played out in the cage. But there was a kickass main event featuring a fading Jake Ellenberger and a rising Stephen Thompson.

In case you’re in the dark, Thompson is the dude who Chris Weidman spars with to make sure his striking can handle the likes of Lyoto Machida. In other words, Thompson (a.k.a. “Wonderboy”) is a badass on the feet.

Here’s a video recap of the Ellenberger/Thompson fight:

Other highlights of the event included Michelle Waterson’s dominant Octagon debut against Angela Magana, Josh Samman dominating Caio Magalhaes and then getting spit on, and Jorge Masvidal putting Cezar Ferreira’s lights out.
