Sonnen says he needs “dirtbag” Wanderlei fight before retiring

Post UFC 159 — Chael Sonnen leaves ‘heart broken’ as he puts it. After a one-sided taste of his own medicine (ground and pound), Jon Jones earns the TKO and retains the title. Sonnen, still with stitches in his nose and bruises, still shows up to his second place of employment, UFC Tonight.

During the show, Sonnen gave his thoughts on everything from his loss to Jones to who would win between Jon and Anderson Silva, to not retiring to take on Wanderlei Silva.

“Wanderlei called me out before, but the fight never made sense.  Now it does. I’m not going anywhere until me and Wanderlei straighten this thing out once and for all. Wanderlei pulled a dirt bag move on me one time. He said something to me that I couldn’t hear, and then put it on YouTube with subtitles because he knew I couldn’t understand it and called me out. If you’re a fighter, that doesn’t fly. You must respond to him, and I’m ready to respond to you Wanderlei.”

“I’m not going anywhere until me and Wanderlei Silva straighten this thing out once and for all,” Sonnen said. “If you’re a fighter, [what Silva did in the van] doesn’t fly, it doesn’t matter if you’re in a van or not. You must respond, and I’m ready to respond to him.”

Here’s a response from Wanderlei on Sonnen last summer. It starts with “f**k you.
