A relaxed Chael Sonnen sat down with MMA:30’s Dave Farra to talk about his MMA career dating back before the explosion mixed martial arts. Refreshingly out of character, Sonnen talks humble beginnings such as fighting for only $100 against Babalu Sobral, which he says still sits on his fridge today.
Sonnen also admits that a UFC belt is still his goal, despite the persona in the press that says otherwise.
“My mindset is different. I don’t want to paint myself in a corner. I’d love to grab that belt and sit down and come up with a new set of goals. Move forward from there. My tunnel vision is on one thing. If it’s only for one night, then it’s one night, but if that one night doesn’t happen, then it’s all a waste. “
