How many times must it be said.. ‘Business as usual‘, as MMAWeekly reports that sources close to the Strikeforce promotions have verified that Strikeforce matchmakers Bob Cook (AKA trainer) and Rich Chou have been released from Strikeforce following the Zuffa buyout. New matchmaker replacing the two? That would be former WEC matchmaker extraordinaire Sean Shelby. Shelby known by the mma community for putting together some of the most dynamic matches in WEC history looks to spread that magic to Strikeforce promotions.
Prior to the switch, Shelby was handling the migration and matchmaking of WEC fighters premiering in the UFC. Now with things settling, it looks that Shelby will use his fight analysis expertise to put together a better fight card for the partnered promotion Strikeforce.
Shelby has already been said to have already made executive decisions, compiling the upcoming Strikeforce Challengers card June 24, in Kent Washington along with other upcoming events in the pipes. Headlining the card as of now is Caros Fodor vs James Terry, and Ryan Couture vs TBA. Do you expect to see more competitive match making in Strikeforce, or is Zuffa unjustly breaking apart a good organization?
