Schaub vs. Johnson and others moved to UFC 157

Everyone knows by now that Ronda Rousey will be making her debut at UFC 157 when she defends her title against former Strikeforce bantamweight challenger Liz Carmouche. The event takes place on February 23rd at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. While the bout between former champions Dan Henderson and Lyoto Machida has been called into doubt, people looking to attend the event can take solace in the fact that two intriguing bouts have been added to the card.

A heavyweight clash between Brendan Schaub and Lavar Johnson has rescheduled for the card. The fight was supposed to originally take place at this past weekends UFC on FOX 5, but an injury to Johnson postponed the match. This fight will not be going to the judges, considering the fact that in their combined fights they have only once gone the distance. Schaub may have a problem with his chin having been knocked out in all three of his losses. That could create problems with Johnson having posted 15 knockouts in 17 career wins.

The other bout added tot he fight card is a third place match for this season of The Ultimate Fighter. Team Carwin’s Neil Magny will be taking on other semifinalist loser in Team Nelson’s Jon Manley. Both of these fighters are 7-1 in their professional career, going¬† 3-1 on the reality program. Usually a fight like this would take place on the season ending fight card, but for these fighters they will have a few more months to prepare. Hopefully, they can work on their finishing skills as there is only eight finishes among their twenty wins including the fights on the show.
