Rory MacDonald has left the UFC and signed with Bellator.
Like Benson Henderson and a few others before him, the top ranked fighter who long called the Octagon home has departed for the purportedly greener pastures of the number two MMA organization in the world.
FloCombat has the scoop:
Rory MacDonald has found a new home.
The long-time top UFC welterweight has signed a new deal with Bellator MMA after a brief free agency period. Sources close to the deal confirmed the news with FloCombat on Wednesday.
The UFC declined to exercise the standard matching clause included in all UFC fighter contracts. On Wednesday, MacDonald was removed from the UFC’s official rankings.
Damn. That’s a big signing for Bellator.
