After this week’s long list of fighters given the boot from UFC, the organization decided to add one more; heavyweight Rolles Gracie.
Gracie was defeated at his debut fight last Saturday at UFC 109 by fellow newbie Joey Beltran.
Gracie was originally scheduled to fight Mostapha Al Turk at UFC 109, but Joey Beltran stepped in as a last minute replacement, as it was reported the Brit, Al Turk, was having visa issues.
After Gracie’s second-round TKO loss to Beltran, Dana White told a group of reporters that Gracie definitely needed some more training.
“To be honest, his standup needs some work,” White stated. “But usually what you expect from jiu-jitsu guys, they come in with great jiu-jitsu, and they need work on their standup.”
Luckily for Rolles, he will have a chance to work outside the UFC, if he chooses to do so.
