For the briefest of moments, when Conor McGregor was riding high off of his quick destruction of Jose Aldo and was big on moving up and challenging other champs, there was talk of him facing welterweight king Robbie Lawler. There was even talk that McGregor would’ve done well in that match-up, maybe even won.
Nah. He would’ve been killed. I mean, we know now that McGregor couldn’t even deal with Nate Diaz’s punching power. Lawler would’ve taken his head clean off.
But according to Lawler, the damage wouldn’t have been restricted to the realm of the physical. He would’ve taken McGregor’s soul as well.
Watch the interview Lawler did with a local news outlet. It’s hard not to believe him when he says it.
