Former UFC lightweight champ Sean Sherk (33-4-1) will return to fight on the UFC 108 fight card against new up and comer Rafael Oliveira (9-2). The 108 card is scheduled to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
Originally Sherk was scheduled to fight Gleison Tibau at UFC 104: “Machida vs. Shogun” at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., back on Oct. 24. A last minute back injury caused the muscle Sherk to have to back out.
Prior to his last minute injury, Sherk was on his way back into title contention with a impressive unanimous victory over the tough Tyson Griffin at UFC 90: “Silva vs. Cote”.
If this is not enough, former 205-pound champion, Rashad Evans, will also collide with Brazilian slugger, Thiago Silva, in the co-featured fight of the night.
