Junior Dos Santos out punches Roy Nelson to victory

Well it looks as if Junior Dos Santos will be getting a title shot at the winner Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez. Dos Santos wins the fight by unanimous victory (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). Though it was not a finish, it was a classic showing of heart between the two heavyweights.

Dos Santos quickly started connecting to the head of Nelson with pristine striking in the first round. It shocked many as the husky Nelson refused to go down throughout the beating.  Punches over the top and hooks connected many times without putting Nelson out. Through the second and third round the two giants showed signs of fatigue.

This is now Dos Santos’ seventh win in row. He last took down Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC Live: Vera vs. Jones via KO as well.  His current record is 12-1, with eight of his wins coming by KO.
