UFC President Dana White has started his unveiling on why he believes UFC 129 in Toronto, Canada on April 30 will be the biggest UFC card yet. Canadian hero, Georges St-Pierre will look to defend his belt for the ninth consecutive time in the Octagon. The challenger, former Strikeforce and Elite XC middleweight champion, Jake Shields.
Shields will come in with an impressive 15 fight win streak, to the champion’s nine straight title contention victories.
Rumor’s of a possible super-fight between Anderson Silva, and Georges St-Pierre were in hopes, but timing of the event did not allow the match-up. Silva will need to get past the fast-handed Vitor Belfort at UFC 126 in Feb. Then Silva will also likely be looking to compete at the UFC in Rio, Brazil in Aug. in front of his home country as St-Pierre will now be doing.
