The UFC is going to Ireland this weekend, so to get in the spirit – and capitalize on the nation’s pride and fandom – Reebok cobbled together a shirt for the occasion.
Unfortunately, they, or, sort of made one that was kind of insensitive to the civil strife and conflict that has afflicted Ireland since… oh, forever.
Behold, the Reebook Ireland shirt.
It leaves out Northern Ireland, which, though technically under British rule, is considered by many of its residents to still be pretty damn Irish.
Conor McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh is pretty heated over the shirt.
only seeing this now. its about the dumbest idea i’ve ever seen. working on it. pic.twitter.com/3FiCA1gj8y

An incredibly insensitive stupid divisive idea. Its removed by the end of the day or SBG is gone. I expect a sincere apology to Irish fans. — Coach Kavanagh (@John_Kavanagh) October 21, 2015
When it comes to penetrating the MMA market, Reebok can’t seem to get anything right.
