Pat Barry returns against Shawn Jordan in May
Pat Barry and Shawn Jordan have agreed to a fight in May of this year. The name of the event was not given in the report, but as of right now there is two options for May events. The UFC has a super card lined up for Memorial Day weekend, which is UFC 160 in Las Vegas, N.V., and there’s UFC on FX 8 on May 18 which is scheduled for Brazil. Unless there is a third event in May, the fight will likely take place at UFC 160 since Barry has only fought outside of the US once, and neither Jordan or Barry are Brazilian.
Barry is usually one of the busier fighters in the UFC, but after being finished for the third time in four fights he took a hiatus. A stint on the Ultimate Fighter as Shane Carwin’s striking coach was the perfect fit, and Barry returned at Season Sixteen’s finale against former Strikeforce heavyweight Shane Del Rosario. Barry had trouble with Del Rosario for most of the first round, which was contested on the ground, but all of that changed in the second. Coming out on fire, Barry took the fight to Del Rosario, and he finished him within 30 seconds of he second round. Barry will be looking to win two straight fights for the first time in the Octagon ever.
Jordan will be the second Strikeforce veteran that Barry has faced. Jordan finished Oli Thompson in his first UFC bout, but he did not win too many fans when he took on UFC veteran Cheick Kongo. The fight had fans booing heavily as the two heavyweights were content with clinching against the cage. Jordan did, however, take the fight on short notice. He redeemed himself in January of this year when he became only the second man to finish Mike Russow by strikes. This Barry/Jordan match-up will likely be a striking battle, with whoever landing first winning.

Awwww hell yeah! Hopefully another awesome KO. Pat’s one of the nicest, most genuine, funniest, yet dangerous fighters out there. Deserves to keep on winning.
How can you not love a Pat Barry fight!!!
Question….. Do you all think Pat Berry would do better at LHW? First he is small for heavy all the monsters are way over 6ft, plus his record is a little inconsistent… He is a beast no doubt but with guys like Overeem, silva and eventually JB I think he will be out sized
I agree Anthony Smith, I’d like to see him at LHW too
