Nick-Diaz

Nick Diaz ‘sick’ of GSP overshadowing opponent Carlos ConditFebruary 3, 2012 by Joe Rocha

If you’ve had a chance to catch the UFC 143 Primetime, you’ve seen that episode two did not just feature the headliners of 143. The back-story of injured champ Georges St-Pierre was also added. To many fans they felt it took the focus off of “The Natural Born Killer.” This type of angle does not sit well with Condit’s opponent as he talked about it at yesterdays press conference.

Yeah, I think it makes me sick,” he said. “This is Carlos’ time to be here, and to be a part of this main event. This is … half of the show is built up around me fighting Georges St-Pierre. But that’s not

. I’m fighting Carlos Condit. So, I don’t like it.”

Diaz also went on paying respects to his challenger, analyzing Condit as the more dangerous fight.

You’re more in danger of losing a decision to Georges St-Pierre,” said Diaz. “I think you’re more in danger of losing your teeth if you’re fighting Condit here.”

Condit also weighed in, giving his assessment of Diaz.

I expect a war,” said Condit. “Honestly, Nick is probably the toughest dude I’ve ever fought. He’s well-rounded, he has a pretty dynamic skill set. He’s pretty similar to me. We both come to fight. No matter who wins, fans are going to win because it’s going to be a phenomenal fight.”
