“Mr. Wonderful” Ready To Become “Mr. UFC Champion”

ufc 172

Phil Davis made some bold remarks during a conference call in reference to Jon Jones earlier this week.

Davis, who meets Anthony Johnson in Saturday’s co-main event at UFC 172, believes he is ready for a title shot with a win. But doesn’t sound overly-concerned with getting one.

Jones, meanwhile, will be in the main event against Glover Teixeira for his UFC light heavyweight belt.

“It’s not now or never,” said Davis, during an interview on UFC Tonight. “I have plenty of years left in this game. I’d much prefer now.

“Give it to me now and let me beat up guys with that title for a long time.”

Davis has lost just once in his MMA career, falling to former UFC champion Rashad Evans. That defeat continues to wear on “Mr. Wonderful,” and he’d like a second shot at him.

“I still have to pay Rashad a visit,” Davis said. “He’s hurt, and I love the guy. When you’re recovered, you might be next.”

Davis is on a three-fight win streak, holding a 12-1 career record. He holds wins over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Lyoto Machida and Alexander Gustafsson.

I can't believe what's been going on – so sad about those three boys in Bimrmnghai. Terrible news. Things are getting back to normal here so hopefully it will be the same near you. Glad to see it's business as usual and you're off for a curry! The derelict high street comment made me laugh.
