Most Hyped UFC Debuts of All Time (Gifs included)
In light of this weekend’s debut of Ronda Rousey there has been a lot of talk about the biggest debuts of all time. Many fighters come in with a ton of hype, and they either sink or swim. Some fighters, like Dan Henderson and Wanderlei Silva, will not be included since they debuted with the UFC before they transferred over from PRIDE. So lets count down the biggest UFC debuts of all time in terms of the hype for the fighter.
#10 Jake Shields
Shields was the original Strikeforce transfer, because after his performance against Henderson the UFC had to have him. Since this was a time when Georges St. Pierre had essentially no challengers, and instead was rematching Josh Koscheck and fighting Dan Hardy, the UFC brought him in and all he had to do was beat Martin Kampmann to earn his shot. He did win the fight, but did not add very many fans in the process.

No Overeem?
Wtf, looks like kampmann was about to give shields a rim job. lol
Cro cop had to make that list. When he entered in 2007, he had last fought in the Pride openweight tournament and destroyed Wandy and Barnett.
Would have CroCop at number 6 or 7 at least. A lot of people thought he was gonna destroy everyone the UFC had at HW then. Also, Wanderlei coming off two loses in Pride was still being hyped like crazy. It was his second debut, but it felt like his 1st to many who missed his first few fights in the UFC.
How about Cain Velasquez? His debut against Lesnar was hyped pretty much and he fullfilled all expectations by destroying Brock in the first round…
gosh could everyone pls stop to redicously overrate rousey? She has tits, but certainly, she was NOT the one who helped to make mma what it is today. men did. many. long before her, so for what the fuck does she deserves this hype? tits? pls…
