Michael Bisping took a pretty decent beating in his failed title defense against Georges St-Pierre at UFC 217. In fact, the New York State Athletic Commission levied a 30-day suspension on him, which is pretty standard for a fighter who wasn’t knocked out.
But then Anderson Silva failed a drug test, and the main event between him and Kevlin Gastelum for UFC Fight Night 122 on November 25 had to be scrapped. Who could replace Silva on short notice? Apparently Bisping can. Sure, the Gastelum fight will be just 21 days after the GSP fight, and the Brit will have to get a doctor’s clearance to fight, but he’ll do it.
