Maynard injured, Jim Miller steps in vs. Joe Lauzon at UFC 155

When it rains, it pours. Make that two injured fighters reported today. Former lightweight contender Gray Maynard has now been removed from his bout with Joe Lauzon  at UFC 155 on Dec. 29th due to an undisclosed injury. Fortunately for the UFC they have already saved the match-up with former perennial contender Jim Miller.

Miller was last seen taking a loss against Nate Diaz in May as a headliner to the FOX card. Prior to the loss the New Jersey native had gone 8-1 only dropping a loss to current champion Benson Henderson.

Being in arguably the deepest divisions in the UFC, Lauzon has had a rollercoaster of a career. Stepping in off a win over former WEC champ Jamie Varner, Lauzon has looked confident and improved in his game. With the new changes made to the card, here is what you can now expect from the UFC’s 2012 finale card.

Preliminary Card:

Myles Jury vs. Michael Johnson

Matt Mitrione vs. Phil DeFries
