Who says retirements have to be permanent? Certainly not former UFC light heavyweight fighter Matt “The Hammer” Hamill. Hamill has only been retired for about a year, and decided it was enough. Now he’ll be making his way back into the octagon on September 22nd at UFC 152.
“The Hammer” already has an opponent lined up, and will meet with UFC newcomer Roger Hollett. Dana White confirmed the bout and stated that the two have verbally agreed to fight each other.
Sources have tried to reach both Hamill and his manager Duff Holmes for comment earlier today, but both failed to return messages. Hamill’s decision to return is still not known as of yet, but statements from the fighter are expected soon .
