This welterweight tilt delivered all the action fans and pundits were expecting, and despite Jordan Mein’s reputation as a rising prospect, Matt Brown came out firing. No surprises there.
After clipping Mein with a left hook early on, Brown aggressively pursued his opponent, before the Canadian sent him reeling to the mat with a thumping hook to the liver. Brown recovered, however, and had Mein in trouble with a triangle-choke attempt before the opening round concluded.
A flurry of strikes and a choke attempt from Brown quickly had Mein on the ropes shortly into round two. Although the bloodied prospect attempted to work his way off the mat, Brown’s follow up elbows and punches brought about the stoppage.
Huge and impressive win for Matt Brown.
