Following UFC 157, test results have come back dirty for heavyweight Lavar Johnson, adding insult to injury after losing by unanimous decision to Brendan Schaub on the FX portion of the prelims.
According to the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) Johnson has been flagged for high levels of testosterone. Before you ask, it has also been clarified as not caused by an imbalance to epitestoterone as Chael Sonnen and Alistair Overeem had infamously pointed to for the cause of the high levels.
The loss marks Johnson’s second straight after losing to Stefan Struve in May via armbar. Prior to the losses, Johnson made a splash in the organization with back-to-back knockouts of Pat Barry and Joey Beltran.
