Jose Canseco Looks to Strikeforce to pay his taxes?

The Detroit News “Tax Watchdog” column has reported that Jose Canseco owes a total of $320,195 in back taxes to the Internal Revenue Service and the state of California.

According to the Detroit News, Canseco has had four liens against him filed since July 2008, including one as recently as Jan. 7, 2010. Canseco owes nearly $200,000 to the state of California and $121,000 to the IRS.

Jose Canseco is well known for his successful 17 year run in Major League Baseball (MLB). As of recent, Canseco has been trying to make a new career in the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) taking part in celebrity boxing, and fighting in Japan against the very large Hong Man Choi.

Canseco has been in the media challenging ex-NFL player turned Mixed Martial-Artist (MMA) Herschel Walker from Strikeforce. Stikeforce match maker Scott Coker says he has no interest in setting up a Canseco vs. Walker fight.

As it look’s Canseco will need to find another outlet for funds on his tax predicament.
