Jose Aldo may be all smiles in front of the camera, but it doesn’t mean he won’t trash talk an opponent in the build up to a showdown. During a recent interview with Tatame Magazine, the champ continued to voice his disapproval of his next opponent, lightweight import Anthony Pettis.
“I will prove that he should have stayed at lightweight and not drop down. After the fight, he will regret having gone down to featherweight. I’m adapted, I always fight here. We have to respect [him], but this is our world and we will show who we are.”
Of course, both men are very confident going in to the fight and both men have also shown interest in a lightweight fight afterwords. Unfortunately, based on the UFC’s past actions, they are not willing to do a “super-fight” unless the champ lets go of the belt first. It would be nice, but highly unlikely that we will see a champ with two titles as both men aspire to do.
