Is Jon Jones a dirty fighter?
That was brought up over the weekend after Jones defeated Glover Teixeira at UFC 172. The UFC light heavyweight champion was warned several times for putting his fingers out and poking Teixeira.
A message on Twitter, directed towards Pedro Rizzo, was re-posted by Jose Aldo on his own account. Here’s the message:
@pedrorizzo1 o jones é um excepcional lutador, mas luta muito sujo, cabeçadas, mãos abertas no rosto do adversario, é muito perigoso…
— Gilmar Caetano (@Gil_Caetano) April 27, 2014
And here’s the translation of that message:
the jones is an exceptional fighter, but fight very dirty, halters, open the face of the opponent hands, is very dangerous …
So, do you agree? Was what Jones was doing “dirty?” UFC president Dana White was vocal about it after the fight, but didn’t go as far as to call the antics into question.
It should be noted that Aldo is a friend of Teixeira’s, so maybe he was trying to defend his Brazilian buddy.
